World Trade Center and Wall Street were in the same area.
Most of the tourists love to walk around.

BUT..... the Twin Towers were entirely vanished couple of years before our visit ครับ

The spot was called "Ground Zero" since there is NO buildings on that plot of land anymore.

To answer to your question, I've been to both places.
The 9-11 took place while I was in NY.

I’ve been to the Twin Towers so many times during 1997-2001.
Of course, most of them were in the lines of duty taking care of Thais who visited NY.

แน่นอนว่า  เกือบทั้งหมดเป็นหน้าที่ที่จะต้องพาแขกจากเมืองไทยไปเที่ยว  ก็มาเยือนนิวยอร์กทั้งทีนี่คะ ..


You would not see the beautiful scenery of those towers unless you were in the other side of Hudson River.
This picture was taken in 1998 with my little boy, we were in New Jersey,
and our background was the beautiful Twin Towers.
โดยปกติแล้ว  เราจะไม่เห็นภาพอาคารแฝดนี้ได้สวยนัก  ยกเว้นจะมองมาจากฝั่งตรงข้ามของแม่น้ำฮัดสัน
ภาพนี้ถ่ายเมื่อปี 1998  เป็นภาพของพี่กับลูกชายตัวน้อย  เราอยู่ในเขตรัฐนิวเจอร์ซี่  
และวิวข้างหลังของเราจะเห็นภาพอาคารแฝดเต็มตา สวยงาม


ปล. แมนฮัตตันหรือที่เรียกติดปากว่า New York City เป็นเมืองที่อยู่บนเกาะ
มีพื้นที่ไม่มากนัก  แต่ประชากรหนาแน่น  มีแม่น้ำฮัตสันล้อมรอบ  
รัฐนิวเจอร์ซี่ถือเป็นรัฐที่ติดกับนิวยอร์กซิตี้ โดยมีแม่น้ำฮัตสันกั้นเขตแดน  
เหมือน กทม. และธนบุรี ที่มีแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยากั้นนั่นแหละค่ะ

We left NY in early of 2002, so we experienced the 9-11 tragedy by ourselves.
It was a terrified and unforgettable moment for all of us. 
เราย้ายออกจากนิวยอร์กประมาณต้นปี 2002  ดังนั้น เราจึงอยู่ในเหตุการณ์โศกนาฏกรรม 9-11 แบบเต็ม ๆ

The disaster


The most shocking scene that I could not forget until now,
was the picture of the people who were trapped in the buildings.
They could not bear with the heat, they made their final decision to jump out of the burning buildings,
one-by-one, like falling leaves.
It was a tragic moment that no one could explain.
ภาพที่สลดและสะเทือนใจมากจนไม่อาจลืมได้กระทั่งทุกวันนี้
คือภาพของผู้คนที่ติดอยู่ในอาคาร  
เมื่อไม่สามารถทนความร้อนได้อีกต่อไป  ผู้เคราะห์ร้ายเหล่านั้นตัดสินใจกระโดดลงมาจากตึกที่กำลังถูกเพลิงเผา
ทีละคน ทีละคน  เหมือนใบไม้ร่วง  
เชื่อว่าคงไม่มีใครสามารถอธิบายความรู้สึกโศรกสลดในช่วงเวลานั้นได้เลย
