It's good to join any activities of the place,
As Robin 2 years old,I took him to join
"mother and child group"just to see the others,
to sing ,to play and just to change the information
about our child...
Alfie will be 3 next year,right?

I think to rise up your kids in Germany will be similar to England. Alfie will be 2 years old next spring. Now he starts to speak Thai and English but he is not talkative. He is very active and very social. He loves to play among other kids. (We go to a local Sure Start Centre.) He is quite independent to jumb in the play group without me. He goes back to me only when he feels hungry or has enough with the play time (about 1hour and half). So I have to let he start school early. He will start 2 days a week (1 hour daily). When he enjoys to spend time longer and can cope with class activities, his teacher and us will let him spend time longer. I will have to introduce some Thai language, tradition and culture to his class mates. (This year there are India andTiwan families in the class.)  Some mums who have enough time can be a volunteer as a classroom assistant as well. It will keep me busy for a few year before Alfie starts a proper school. Then I will be free to back to work again. Another thing I like to do is to read your experiences on the boards though I do not sign in regularly.

Dear Nong Neung,
nice to have such a  group or child  center where you live.
I need to active by myself to hear around what kind of a group
for mother and child they had at the place....it was not for free!
but I have to pay.At that time I just think of his developement,
he needed a social contact as the same age children.

As you may know,Robin grows up with 2 languages...it took him
quite long(longer than 3 years!)untill it's worked....
we have filmed a time when he was 3-6 years old..he could speak
thai really well,then when he was to primary school(age 6.9)he answered
me more and more in german!it was funny we communicated in 2 languages
but the same topic.
For his sister is more easier...she learned from him!

Now,14 years after...he speaks fluent german but very poor thai..
it was beyond my capacity to force him to...so far he could understand my thai.
so,I do hope Alfie would maintain his mother language so far he could.
