Culture
Germany is historically called Das Land der Dichter und Denker (the land of poets and thinkers). German culture began long before the rise of Germany as a nation-state and spanned the entire German-speaking world. From its roots, culture in Germany has been shaped by major intellectual and popular currents in Europe, both religious and secular. As a result, it is difficult to identify a specific German tradition separated from the larger framework of European high culture. Another consequence of these circumstances is the fact that some historical figures, such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Kafka and Paul Celan, though not citizens of Germany in the modern sense, must be considered in the context of the German cultural sphere in order to understand their historical situation, work and social relations.
In Germany, the Federal States are in charge of the cultural institutions. There are 240 subsidised theatres, hundreds of symphonic orchestras, thousands of museums and over 25,000 libraries spread over the 16 states. These cultural opportunities are enjoyed by many millions: there are over 91 million German museum visits every year; annually, 20 million go to theatres and operas; while 3.6 million listen to the great symphonic orchestras.
Germany claims some of the world's most renowned classical music composers, including Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms and Richard Wagner. As of 2006, Germany is the fifth largest music market in the world and has influenced pop and rock music through artists such as Kraftwerk, Scorpions and Rammstein.
Numerous German painters have enjoyed international prestige through their work in diverse artistic styles. Hans Holbein the Younger, Matthias Grünewald, and Albrecht Dürer were important artists of the Renaissance, Caspar David Friedrich of Romanticism, and Max Ernst of Surrealism. Architectural contributions from Germany include the Carolingian and Ottonian styles, which were important precursors of Romanesque. The region later became the site of significant works in styles such as Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Germany was particularly important in the early modern movement, especially through the Bauhaus movement founded by Walter Gropius. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, also from Germany, became one of the world's most renowned architects in the second half of the 20th century. The glass façade skyscraper was his idea.
German literature can be traced back to the Middle Ages and the works of writers such as Walther von der Vogelweide and Wolfram von Eschenbach. Various German authors and poets have won great renown, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller. The collections of folk tales published by the Brothers Grimm popularised German folklore on an international level. Influential authors of the 20th century include Thomas Mann, Berthold Brecht, Hermann Hesse, Heinrich Böll, and Günter Grass.


Economy
Germany has the largest national economy in Europe, the fourth largest by nominal GDP in the world, and ranked fifth by GDP (PPP) in 2008. Since the age of industrialisation, the country has been a driver, innovator, and beneficiary of an ever more globalised economy. Germany was the world's largest exporter from 2003 to 2008. It was surpassed by China in 2009 and is currently the second largest exporter and generates a large trade surplus. The service sector contributes around 70% of the total GDP, industry 29.1%, and agriculture 0.9%. Most of the country's products are in engineering, especially in automobiles, machinery, metals, and chemical goods. Germany is the leading producer of wind turbines and solar power technology in the world. The largest annual international trade fairs and congresses are held in several German cities such as Hanover, Frankfurt, and Berlin.
Of the world's 500 largest stock market listed companies measured by revenue, the Fortune Global 500, 37 are headquartered in Germany. In 2007 the ten largest were Daimler, Volkswagen, Allianz (the most profitable company), Siemens, Deutsche Bank (2nd most profitable company), E.ON, Deutsche Post, Deutsche Telekom, Metro, and BASF. Among the largest employers are also Deutsche Post, Robert Bosch GmbH, and Edeka.[93] Well known global brands are Mercedes Benz, SAP, BMW, Adidas, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Nivea.[94] It is estimated that German companies were losing about €50 billion ($87 billion) and 30,000 jobs to industrial espionage every year, reportedly sponsored by China and Russia.
Germany is a strong advocate of closer European economic and political integration, and its commercial policies are increasingly determined by agreements among European Union (EU) members and EU single market legislation. Germany uses the common European currency, the euro, and its monetary policy is set by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. Prior to 1999, the official currency was the Deutsche Mark. As of 1 January 1999, this was converted to the euro at an exchange rate of 1 euro for 1.95583 German marks, for accounting purposes. Actual euro coins and banknotes followed on 1 January 2002.
Two decades after German reunification, standards of living and per capita incomes remain significantly higher in the states of the former West Germany than in the former East. The modernisation and integration of the eastern German economy continues to be a long-term process scheduled to last until the year 2019, with annual transfers from west to east amounting to roughly $80 billion. The overall unemployment rate has consistently fallen since 2005 and reached a 15-year low in June 2008 with 7.5%. In 2009 the unemployment rate was 8% in the whole of Germany; in the former West Germany it was half the rate compared to the east.
The nominal GDP of Germany contracted in the second and third quarters of 2008, putting the country in a technical recession following a global and European recession cycle. In January 2009 the German government under Angela Merkel approved a €50 billion ($70 billion) economic stimulus plan to protect several sectors from a downturn and a subsequent rise in unemployment rates.

Infrastructure
With its central position in Europe, Germany is an important transportation hub. This is reflected in its dense and modern transportation networks. The extensive motorway (Autobahn) network that ranks worldwide third largest in its total length and features a lack of blanket speed limits on the majority of routes.
Germany has established a polycentric network of high-speed trains. The InterCityExpress or ICE is the most advanced service category of the Deutsche Bahn and serves major German cities as well as destinations in neighbouring countries. The train maximum speed varies between 160 km/h and 300 km/h. Connections are offered at either 30-minute, hourly, or two-hourly intervals.
Germany is the world's fifth largest consumer of energy, and two-thirds of its primary energy was imported in 2002. In the same year, Germany was Europe's largest consumer of electricity, totaling 512.9 terawatt-hours. Government policy promotes energy conservation and the development of renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, biomass, hydroelectric, and geothermal energy. As a result of energy-saving measures, energy efficiency has been improving since the beginning of the 1970s. The government has set the goal of meeting half the country's energy demands from renewable sources by 2050.
In 2000, the government and the German nuclear power industry agreed to phase out all nuclear power plants by 2021. Renewable energy still plays a more modest role in energy consumption. In 2006, energy consumption was met by the following sources: oil (36%); coal, including lignite (24%); natural gas (23%); nuclear (13%); hydro and wind power (1%); and other (4%). However, the share of renewable energy in electricity supply has been rapidly increasing, reaching 14% in 2007. The German government has set a new target to increase this share to 27% by 2020.


Education
Responsibility for educational oversight in Germany lies primarily with the federal states individually, whilst the federal government only has a minor role. Optional kindergarten education is provided for all children between three and six years old, after which school attendance is compulsory for at least nine years. Primary education usually lasts for four years and public schools are not stratified at this stage. In contrast, secondary education includes three traditional types of schools based on a pupil's ability as determined by teacher recommendations: the Gymnasium enrolls the most gifted children and prepares students for university studies, and attendance lasts eight or nine years depending on the state; the Realschule has a broader range of emphasis for intermediate students and lasts six years; the Hauptschule prepares pupils for vocational education.
Since the 1960s, a reform movement attempted to unify secondary education in a Gesamtschule (comprehensive school). However, instead of overcoming the stratification, Gesamtschule just became a fourth type of secondary school. Since about 2000, several West German Länder simplified their school system to two or three tiers. Motives were: The example of Eastern Germany where in the 1990s, following reunification, a two-tier school system was established; mediocre scores in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), first published in 2001, prompted a nation-wide debate about the school system, and in particular about the social selectivity of early stratification; catering mostly for students from immigrant families, inner-city Hauptschulen were increasingly considered dysfunctional; outside the metropoles, the population is shrinking, so that it becomes increasingly unpractical to maintain a three- or four-tier school system.
A special system of apprenticeship called Duale Ausbildung ("dual education") allows pupils in vocational training to learn in a company as well as in a state-run vocational school.
To enter a university in Germany, high school students are generally required to take the Abitur examination, which is similar to A-levels in the UK and typically done at the age of 18 or 19. However, students possessing a diploma from a vocational school may also apply for matriculation in certain subjects. Germany's universities are recognised internationally, indicating the high education standards in the country. In the ARWU ranking for 2008, six of the top 100 universities in the world are in Germany, and 18 in the top 200. Nearly all German universities are public (i.e. non-private) institutions, charging tuition fees ranging from €50–500 per semester for each student.

คงไม่ต้องบอกกันนะครับว่าที่ไหนที่เราเริ่มออกเดินทาง
คืนนั้นไปถึงสนามบินเร็วมาก ก็เลยต้องไปรอกันนานพอสมควรครับ
ระหว่างนั่งรอก็รู้สึกง่วงเป็นกำลัง ก็เลยต้องลุกขึ้นมาถ่ายรูปสนามบินมาดูกันซะหน่อย
ก็สนุกดีเหมือนกันครับ ในใจยังคงหมกมุ่นห่วงเรื่องฝนตกที่เห็นจากการพยากรณ์อากาศอยู่
ไม่รู้ว่าวันพรุ่งนี้ที่ถึงที่ Amsterdam  จะเป็นยังไงกัน

จากการที่นั่งรอเครื่องบินออก ก็นับไป 1 วันแล้วครับ ยังไม่ทันได้นอนเลยข้ามวันซะละ

วันที่สองของการเดินทาง

ออกเดินทางสู่่ Amsterdam โดยเที่ยวบินที่ CI 065 เครื่องบินล่าช้าทำให้ต้องออกเดินทางช้ากว่ากำหนดประมาณครึ่งชั่วโมง

ถึงสนามบิน เมือง Amsterdam สภาพอากาศขมุกขมัวไปด้วยเมฆฝนจนแสงอาทิตย์ไม่สามารถส่องทะลุลงมายังข้างล่างได้ ซึ่งก็เป็นไปดังคาด ตามที่ได้ดูพยากรณ์อากาศก่อนออกเดินทางมาว่า เราจะต้องเจอกับฝนตลอดการเดินทางในครั้งนี้แทบทุกวัน แต่ก็ยังแอบหวังนิดๆว่าการพยากรณ์อากาศน่าจะผิดพลาดจนทำให้เราพบกับแดดบ้าง
หลังผ่านพิธีการตรวจคนเข้าเมืองและศุลกากรแล้ว รีบออกมายีนรับลมหนาวภายนอกสนามบิน และก็ต้องพบกับความผิดหวังที่ไม่ได้เจอกับแสงแดดเหมือนครั้งไปทริป Europe Baltic แต่ดีที่ฝนยังไม่ตก รถบัสที่มารับพวกเราออกเดินทางจากสนามบินเข้าสู่ตัวเมือง Amsterdam ที่ห่างจากสนามบินไปไม่ไกล เมื่อเข้ามาถึงในเขตตัวเมืองฝนเริ่มโปรยปรายลงมาพอให้ต้องเปียกปอนกันเล็กน้อยในระหว่างที่ต้องเดินไปที่ร้านอาหารที่ห่างจากจุดที่รถจอดประมาณ 200 เมตร นับเป็นการต้อนรับแขกผู้มาเยือนในแบบที่ชุ่มฉำ่ตั้งแต่วันแรกที่มาถึงกันเลยเชียว

รับประทานอาหารกลางวัน ณ ภัตตาคารจีน อาหารกลางวันเป็นไปด้วยความเอร็ดอร่อย หลังทานอาหารเสร็จ ต้องรีบเข้าไปยัง Supermarket ที่อยู่ข้างร้านอาหารเพื่อจัดเตรียมเสบยงในระหว่างการเดินทางและเผื่อสำหรับกลางคืนที่ต้องเข้าโรงแรมให้เป็นที่เรียบร้อยเพราะไม่แน่ใจว่าไปจะถึงโรงแรมคำ่มืดหรือเปล่า

หลังจากจัดเตรียมซื้อเสบียงเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว ก็ออกเดินทางจากกรุง Amsterdam ประเทศ Netherland ข้ามพรมแดนสู่ประเทศ Germany เดินทางสู่เมือง Boppard เมืองเล็กๆที่ตั้งอยู่ริมฝั่งแม่นำ้ Rhine ในเขตรัฐ Rhineland- Palatinate 1  ใน 16  รัฐในเขตการปกครองของ Germany  ด้วยระยะทางรวม 377 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาไปประมาณ 4 ชั่วโมง ระหว่างทางต้องจอดแวะพักที่ปั๊มนำ้มันบนถนน AutoBahn เพื่อให้คนขับได้พักผ่อนคลายอิริยาบท ดื่มกาแฟเข้าห้องนำ้ เพื่อความปลอดภัยตามกฏหมายของเยอรมันหรือเกือบทุกประเทศในยุโรป ปั๊มนำ้มันมีขนาดใหญ่มีที่จอดรถเป็นบริเวณกว้าง เรียกได้ว่าใหญ่กว่าบ้านเราหลายเท่า มีร้านอาหารและเครื่องด่ืมตลอดจน Supermarket ให้ได้จับจ่ายซื้อของ การเข้าห้องนำ้ต้องเสียเงิน แต่สามารถนำเอาคูปองเข้าห้องนำ้มาแลกซื้อของได้ นับว่าเป็นการตลาดที่น่าสนใจเหมือนบังคับซื้อเพราะต้องเข้าห้องนำ้ แต่ถ้าไม่ซื้อที่ปั๊มนี้ก็อาจจะนำไปซื้อที่ปั๊มหน้าก็ได้ แต่ต้องเปป็นร้านเดียวกัน คูปองนี้สามารถเก็บไว้ใช้ได้โดยไม่มีการหมดอายุ

ระหว่างทางฝนก็เทลงมาเป็นระยะระยะ บางแห่งเผยให้เห็นรุ้งกินนำ้ขนาดใหญ่มากในระยะใกล้ๆ ลูกทัวร์ต่างสลบไสลด้วยความอ่อนเพลียจากการที่ต้องออกเดินทางจากเมืองไทยในเวลากลางคืนและไม่ได้นอนในระหว่างอยู่บนเครื่องบิน จีงทำให้ไม่มีโอกาสได้มองเห็นวิวทิวทัศน์ตลอดสองข้างทางที่ดูสวยงามและชุ่มฉำ่ด้วยสายฝน นับเป็นความงามในอีกแบบหนึ่ง

อย่างทีเคยบอกไว้ในรายละเอียดของเส้นทางการเดินทาง
วันที่สองของการเดินทางเราแค่แวะทานอาหารที่กรุง Amsterdam
หลังจากนั้นก็จะออกเดินทางข้ามพรมแดนเข้าสู่ประเทศเยอรมัน
โดยมีจุดหมายปลายทางอยู่ที่เมือง Boppard เมืองเล็กๆริมฝั่งแม่นำ้ Rhine
เพราะฉะนั้น วันนี้เราก็จะใช้เวลาส่วนใหญ่อยู่บนรถ หมดไปกับการเดินทาง
และก็เป็นโอกาสที่เราจะได้นอนหลับพักผ่อนเอาแรงกันครับ

เราใช้เวลาเดินทางค่อนข้างนานพอสมควรเนื่องจากเป็นระยะทางไกล มาถึงเมือง Boppard ก็ประมาณ 18.00 น. เวลาท้องถิ่นแต่ยังพอมีแดดให้เห็นแว๊บๆ ก่อนที่จะเข้าที่พักที่โรงแรม Bellevue Rhinehotel Boppard เก็บข้าวของเข้าห้องพักเป็นที่เรียบร้อยก็ออกมาเดินเล่น ถ่ายรูปกันด้านหน้าโรงแรมที่ติดกับแม่นำ้ Rhine กับแสงแดดยามเย็นเพื่อรอเวลารับประทานอาหารเย็นที่นัดไว้ที่เวลาประมาณ 19.00   น.

เวลาที่ยังพอมีเหลือเกือบหนึ่งชั่วโมง เราจึงตัดสินใจออกเดินเลียบแม่นำ้ถ่ายรูปเล่นและมุ่งย้อนตรงไปยังสนามเด็กเล่นที่เห็นในระหว่างนั่งรถเข้าเมืองมาเห็นเข้า และดูมีสีสรรของเครื่องเล่นที่น่าสนใจกับดอกไม้ที่ปลูกรายล้อมโดยรอบ ถ่ายรูปดอกไม้เครื่องเล่น และแอบถ่ายลุงป้าที่มานั่งพักผ่อนชมวิวที่สวนริมนำ้ เด็กเล็กที่มาขี่จักรยานเล่นและอื่นๆอย่างพอเพลิน จนได้เวลานัดหมายเพื่อทานอาหารเย็นจึงเดินกลับมายังโรงแรมที่พัก ซึ่งก็ใช้เวลาพอสมควรเนื่องเพราะสนามเด็กเล่นอยู่ห่างออกไปจากโรงแรมเกือบครึ่งกิโลเห็นจะได้

เมือ่กลับมาถึงโรงแรมทุกคนต่าวนั่งรออยู่ที่โต๊ะทานอาหารกันพร้อมหน้า ยกเว้นเราสองคน ที่ต้องเดินตัวลีบเข้าไปนั่งที่โต๊ะที่ถูกจัดเฉพาะสำหรับสองที่ เพราะมาช้าเหมือนกับจัดเตรียมให้กับคู่บ่าวสาวที่มีนัดมาทาน Dinner ปานนั้น

เราจินตนาการซะสวยหรูเลย เพราะเห็นบอกว่าเป็นเมืองที่จั้งอยู่ที่โค้งนำ้ที่สวยที่สุดของแม่นำ้ Rhine

Boppard
Boppard (Latin: Baudobriga) is a town in the Rhein-Hunsrück district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the left bank of the Rhine, approx. 25 km south of Koblenz.


History
Boppard was founded by the Romans; under the Merovingian dynasty it became a royal residence. During the Middle Ages it was a considerable centre of commerce and shipping, and under the Hohenstaufen emperors was raised to the rank of an imperial free city.In 1283 Count palatine Ludwig mortagaged the customs duty to Count Eberhard of Katzenelnbogen[1]. In 1312, however, the emperor Henry VII pledged the town to his brother Baldwin, archbishop elector of Trier, and it remained in the possession of the electors until it was absorbed by France during the Revolutionary epoch. It was assigned by the Congress of Vienna in 1815 to Prussia.
Boppard lends its name to the Boppard line, an imaginary line relating to German dialects. Notable people from Boppard include physical chemist Fritz Straßmann and furniture designer Michael Thonet, while Boris Skossyreff is buried there.
On Fleckertshöhe near Boppard, there is a transmitter for FM and TV using as antenna tower a rarely used partially guyed tower. The soap manufacturer Sebamed is headquartered in Boppard.
The municipality currently has 16,812 inhabitants.

Location
Boppard is a small town situated close to the midpoint of the Rhein River in Germany, a stretch of the river known for its many castles and geographic/geologic interest. Among these are the castles known as "Cat" and "Mouse", the picturesque Pfalzgrafenstein (a toll station sited on an island in the river), and the famous "Lorelei" rock. The nearest big town is Koblenz (about 25 km to the north), where the River Mosel joins the Rhein.
Boppard is a popular tourist holiday spot due to its geographic position on the Rhein and its dramatic, gothic architecture. This is suggested by its slogan, "Boppard, the pearl on the Rhein: forests, valleys, mountains, and wine." Grapes grow along the steep hillsides, ably suited to catching the maximum rays of the sun for growing grapes at such a high latitude. Local vintners produce a variety of wines, mainly from the Riesling grape. Just north of Boppard is the largest bend in the entire river (see photo above). The twin-towered St. Severus Church and remnants of the medieval city wall contribute to Boppard's medieval charm.

เพราะในรายการไม่มี เราใช้เมืองนี้เป็นแค่เมืองสำหรับเริ่มต้นเดินทางล่องแม่นำ้ Rhine เท่านั้นครับ อิ อิ
พูดแล้วก้เสียดาย เสียเงิน เสียเวลา นั่งรถไปตั้งไกล ไม่ได้เห็นสิ่งที่ควรเห็น
เอาเหอะ จะอาศัยทัวร์ก็ต้องแบบนี้ ต้องทำใจหน่อย ไปเองก็ไปไม่เป็น เหอ เหอ

มาดูเฉพาะรูปในเมืองเท่าที่ถ่ายมาได้ก็แล้วกันนะครับ
ยังไงก็พยายามจินตนาการว่ามันสวยและ เห็นอะไรต่อมิอะไรเยอะแยะก็แล้วกันนะครับ

สวนและทางเดินริมแม่นำ้ ที่เป็นของส่วนกลางของชาวเมือง ที่ปราศจากการรุกลำ้เข้าไปยึดครอง
นี่ถ้าแม่นำ้เจ้าพระยาของเราเป็นแบบนี้ตลอดทั้งสองฝั่งคงจะทำให้กรุงเทพฯดูสวยงามมากขึ้น
และคงสามารถแก้ปัญหาเรื่องนำ้ท่วมได้ด้วยนะครับ
